The Controls module allows the viewing, editing, and creation of the Controls used within Scripting.
Editing or creating Controls should only be attempted by those with appropriate technical knowledge and understanding of the Scripting system and associated database structure, and any damage caused to a customer's system due to creating or utilising uncertified Controls may result in additional costs if assistance is required from the Professional Services team to rectify the issue. Should users wish to create Custom Controls, the Professional Services team offer Control Certification, or bespoke Control-building services. Please contact us for further information.
Be aware that deleting any Control that is in use will prevent any Workflows making use of them from functioning correctly. Any Controls to be deleted should first be removed from all active Workflows.
If you are considering creating a duplicate of a System Control that is pre-configured for a common usage case, then please instead consider using a Template that has the configured Control. This means that as the originating System Control is updated and improved in later releases of Scripting, the configured Control won't become outdated.
Import
Controls can be directly imported from a file here, allowing either a new or modified control to be imported, or a backup to be restored.
Any Controls with a padlock icon next to their name are System Controls. They cannot be directly edited, but it is possible to take a duplicate of them and edit the duplicate if required.
