Publishing a Workflow determines which Version to pop when a Campaign is launched in the Desktop, or through other means. Behaviour varies slightly between different scenarios, but typically if there is no published version of a Workflow then the most recent Version will be launched; publishing allows a specific Version to be used regardless of any other circumstance.
Versions can be published either manually, or automatically using the Version Scheduler.
How To
To publish a Workflow, open the version of the Workflow to make live.
Click on the Publish button on the toolbar:
The Publish modal will then be displayed. In this modal, you can choose whether the immediately publish the Version, or whether to schedule it for a later time (if the Version Scheduling service is active). A list of checks and warnings will be displayed, displaying any detected issues with the Workflow prior to publishing:
It isn't possible to make a Workflow inactive (not live) once it is published, only to change which version is live. Remember that the visibility of the Workflow in the Desktop is determined by having a live Campaign
associated with it; altering the visibility of a Workflow is carried out at the Campaign level.
